Studio 22, getting to know me better

Thierry Meyer , musical arranger

Passionate about music since my earliest childhood, with classical guitar practice from the age of 12, I am today happy to realize a teenage dream: to live from my passion, musical arrangement.

Having moved to Paris at 19 to continue my studies, I also had the opportunity to discover a musical world filled with countless wonders. The music I played in piano bars allowed me to showcase to the public what I had been working towards for years.

After befriending a pianist, we both went to Guadeloupe for a two-month contract as musicians in various clubs . We ended up staying for three years! I played guitar and bass and also sang. There, we rubbed shoulders with local stars like Franky Vincent and Kassav , but especially with Claude Nougaro, who was performing in Pointe-à-Pitre with Maurice Vander. A close friend of the manager of the hotel where Claude Nougaro was staying, the manager invited him to see one of our performances at the club where we were playing. It was an unforgettable encounter, and the advice he gave me stayed with me for life.

Enriching experiences

Unique musical encounters

Back from Guadeloupe, I went straight into live performances and studio work, where I met Anne-Olga de Pass , a classical composer with whom I would create about ten film and television scores, including " La Rivale ," Michèle Morgan's last film, "Quelques-heures entre nous" by Virginie Sauveur, for which I composed the theme music , and "Un homme par hasard" by Édouard Molinaro . I was responsible for the musical arrangements, adding instruments , and the mixing .
